Mother is swimming
in the vast sea
Baby is following
excited as can be
In the midst of freedom
a question is asked
are we there yet
to the land mass
Mother kept swimming
gulping some fish
why the hurry
Baby, what is your wish
Excitement and adventure
through the span of time
I want it now
Baby began to whine
A strong wind began to blow
waves rising high
Baby fought the waves
thinking he may die
Moving forward
air filled with salt
the seas began to calm
the fear became naught
Time for an adventure
Mother circled a spot
directing Baby’s attention
to a place time forgot
An abandoned ship
on the sea floor
Mother told Baby to explore it
to learn more
Filled with curiosity
Baby obeyed the instruction
his excitement
needed no introduction
Approaching the ship
filled with treasures from long ago
Baby explored it all
taking in all he wanted to know
Next Mother guided him to a reef
filled with colorful fish
Baby filled his belly
with the wonderful dish
Going along further
Mother took time to play
Baby jumped above the water
enjoying the day
The journey continued
filled with laughter and love
time seemed irrelevant
as the sun sunk from above
Arriving at the destination
resting for the night
Baby begged to do it all again
the journey looks bright

Piper what a charming and rhythmic piece of storytelling. It feels like a classic children’s fable, capturing a sense of wonder and the natural bond between parent and child 🩷
