In a cruel twist of fate
pookie disappeared
taken out by a cranky four year old
the facts are sketchy and weird
His best friend
plump with a ring in his nose
the perfect teddy bear
filled with secrets only he knows
Like a volcano erupting
the temper tantrum came
kicking and screaming
trying to lay blame
This fickle four-year-old
flinched at what he had done
carrying the remains of the bear
as he began to run
Calming down
a funeral was held
candles lit by the grave
followed by the ringing of a bell
What caused the demise
it was the denial of a cookie
flipping cookies out of the oven
burning sweet pookie
Days have passed
four-year-old has a new friend
now keeping a new bear close at hand
hoping this friendship will never end

I’m glad this story has a happy ending
Time passes so quickly, and these small moments get better as children get older. One of the things most outgrow. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
Very true Debbie. Time has a way of changing everything
Nicely told story as well- but I know now why I never raised children- that four-year-old would have learned about absence with a quickness! I am so mean!
Thank you. Children can be a challenge at times. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
Somehow it lost the part about your deft employment of all those prompts! Bravo!
Thank you. It’s difficult at times to incorporate all the words. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
