Craving adventure
an idea came to mind
it was almost insane
difficult to define
Listening to some gossip
there is a reunion in the park
filled with food and music
family feuds had begun to spark
Bubbling with excitement
pretending to be a distant cousin
court was being held
jury of a dozen
Testimonies were heard
participants blaming one another
some of it was frightening
making me shudder
Before a brawl broke out
the elders appeared
appeals for peace
then they disappeared
Listening to the jury
glasses filled with wine
decided to delay the decisions
until the next time
Music got louder
as the family danced and ate
until the sun set
it was getting late
Hugs were given
with promises to write
then they departed
it had been a fun night
Entertaining to me
as I had nothing at stake
tales to share
I can’t wait
