Feudal Game

Fantasize about a game

where feudal lords ruled the land

when there were castles

and mobility was banned

Wizards had power

pleas were made for change

this game is fun

the world can be rearranged

In the wave of a wand

the switch was instant

feudal lords became peasants

life was consistent

With the change

free will disappeared

no freedom of expression

really quite weird

An unexpected side effect of

of the wizard’s idea of perfection

looking into the mirror

an interesting perception

One lad immune

from the spell

took the wizard to task

stating this would not end well

Free will for the people

will cause an internal change

through love and kindness

the world will rearrange

Power stated the wizard

is ruling those unable to think

mindlessly following masses

causes the population to shrink

The lad pulled out a sword

then a great battle

loud thunder and powerful lightening

shaking this Tower of Babel

The battle ended as the wizard

was scorched and faded into the wind

free will restored

but this was not the end

The peasants changed

from the inside

love expanded within the world

the feudal lords began to hide

There was peace for a time

then the darkness began to fall

the cycle continues

a lesson for us all

Putting back the pieces

of this fantasy game

looking forward to a time

when peace will reign

  1. Being surrounded by children at school, it reminds me of how easy it was at that age to invent a game out of nothing. It didn’t even have to make sense. Why do we lose that imaginative wonder?

    • It was easy to invent a game when children played outside and entertained themselves. I believe that technology makes it easier to not use the imagination. So many children play computer games early in their lives and never use their imagination. We as a society have truly lost something. So sad. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!

      • Let’s not say ‘never’ 🙂

We run the risk of sounding like our parents and wishing for the good old days.

Whatever the kids are going through now, they are going through together and should stand them well enough for the future.

      • So true. Poor choice of words on my part. I agree they are going through together and will stand well enough in the future. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
