Storm in the Night

Spring is the sponsor

of the thunderstorm tonight

thunder, lightening, and a tornado

gave us a fright

In an effort

to put on a show

an electric performance

with a moon glow

Winds howling

rain belting out a song

objects blowing around

dogs barking along

Then the twister

the climax of the play

rushing for shelter

there is no delay

Trees down

along with a few power lines

no one was injured

as the weather declined

The sun rose

much to my delight

birds are singing

grateful for the light

  1. And the very greatest tempest or storm is already at the door or homing in inch by inch – and how at the ready is humanity?

    • So true. I don’t believe humanity as a whole is ever ready for any storm. However, I still have faith there are a few and that humanity will survive. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!

      • By all means, virtue or dint, a ‘few’ primed are prepped as ‘many’ look but a ‘few’ ‘see’. It’s a pleasure. And have one as well!
