The circus was in town
donkeys and elephants
dancing with the clowns
the romance was elegant
Each had rings
lit by fire
tossing them at each other
close calls were dire
Screeching noises were made
smoke filled the air
escalating arguments
revenge was the dare
Firemen came
turning fires to ashes
hot air rose
language filled with dashes
Out of the chaos
there were no winners
not one was repentant
same old hellish sinners
