Winter Olympics
skiers on the mountain top
saying silent prayers
before time to drop
Skiing in the Super G
racing at sixty miles per hour
flying in the wind
a slope to devour
Turning through the gates
with great speed
twists and turns
obstacles to heed
The thrill of victory
the agony of defeat
the rush of adrenaline
cheering on my feet
Admiring those
who race with a thrill
having the courage
to never stand still

I remember watching Bode Miller losing a ski and completing most of the the course on one ski/leg.
