Being young and impulsive
taking a road trip
down to the beach
wanting to appear hip
Taking the ferry
out to Ship Island
dolphins swimming beside us
ocean sparkling like a diamond
Wearing a visor
smaller than a hat
sun beaming down
hot on the thermostat
Spent the day
playing in the sun
refusing to wear sun screen
only wanting to run
Back in the car
scorched to the bone
pain beginning
could only moan
Week passing
filled with pain
skin is healing
only peeling remains
The adventure was worth it
will do it again
next time with big hat and sunscreen
protecting my skin

Oh how I know how this feels!!!
The only time I wore sunscreen I ended up getting sunstroke. Hubby could not cool me down so literally threw me in the shower fully clothed and turned it on. I don’t usually tan, but that all changed on the boat, I guess because we were moving and not lazing.
Thanks for joining in.
Oh my goodness. I am happy that you recovered. My pleasure. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
The trip sounds lovely, but the burning not so good. 🙂
Once again, Debbie, I apologise for the delay in acknowledging your post, Gerry was meant to reply to the responses to his Wednesday Challenges.

Thank you, and you too. 🙂
A descriptive and light hearted post. I too have over done it in the sun and enjoyed the joy of peeling skin. I am glad you would do it again only this time prepared for outdoor fun.
