Smiles on this day
as new life emerges
family gathers round
as the new baby nurses
Grandparents smile
each seeing a part of themselves
those eyes
twinkle like an elf
Parents beaming
laughter in the air
dreams of a beautiful life
siblings stare
The family grows
there is great delight
smiles on all faces
newborn’s future is bright
