Sitting on a branch
the bird began to sing
weaving a love song
plumping up its wings
Kicking a clump
off the tree
making way for the female
pretty as can be
A mating dance
the chemistry is right
creating a lifelong commitment
on this starry night
Finding a bird house
close to some feeders
near a pump lies some leaves
fallen from a cedar
The house is ready
filled with a nest
beautiful blue eggs
female protects and rests
Singing a happy melody
the eggs begin to hatch
young birds are chirping
with harmonies to match
Young ones fly away
time to weave a new song
the birds sing together
as life moves along
