Basking in the sunshine
on this beautiful day
picking up a coffee
from an intimate cafe
Give a Little Happiness
such a wonderful thought
decided to try it
on this daily walk
On the corner
a sad homeless man
I left some change and food
lending a helping hand
Chatting with an elderly woman
husband passed away this year
talking about him raised her spirit
smiling as she wiped away tears
Helped a neighbor
clean up the yard
sweat coming down my brow
still it wasn’t hard
Basking in the sun
some birds began to sing
I put in a bird bathe
water for them to swing
Hanging something new
a squirrel feeder
watching them dance in joy
especially the ring leader
Give a Little Happiness
a simple way to change
bringing peace into the world
spreading love over a long range
