Reconciled to the fact
that one day I will be dead and gone
coca cola surrounding me
from dusk to dawn
I am a purist
no other soft drink will do
glorious fizzing with sugar
leaving a brown residue
Archaeologist will wonder
how I lived with this acid drink
stories about religion
they will think
What fun it will be
to look down from Heaven
these future humans will never know
the excitement of stopping at a seven eleven

Future archeologists and anthropologists will sort through the ruins and wonder at the significance of the bottles and cans. Knowing my breed well I suspect they’ll postulate arcane rituals of increase, fertility and appeasement to local deities. they will automatically dismiss your simple explanation. Too elegant. Too obvious, and won’t serve to improve my academic standing!!!
Thank you for reading. This blog is written for fun and entertainment. It is not intended to be interpreted as serious in any way. I have no doubt that any future scholar will believe that these post are anything but entertainment. Have a wonderful day!
Coca Cola might have been a little purer in the past, if you get my drift. Thanks for contributing, Debbie.
So true. I am familiar with the history of how Coca Cola was made in the beginning. It was before my time. I do remember in the 80s when Coca Cola changed their formula to compete with Pepsi (??) . I was happy when that marketing campaign failed and Coca Cola reverted back to the formula that we have today. I enjoyed writing for prompt. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
