The Snow Globe

The snow globe sits

upon a shelf

filled with copious snow

the coolness can be felt

A complete universe

protected from strife

away from the busy world

sanctuary from life

Light strikes the glass

causing the stars to sparkle

a perfect world

a site to marvel

Shaking the globe

it begins to snow

miniature trees with lights

begin to glow

Small animals once silent

begin to scurry

people with packages

a world now in a hurry

Placed back on the mantle

the snow continues to thin

creatures within the globe

are at rest again
