Bees surrounding the feeder
a dalliance with sugar wine
drinking to excess
tastes so fine
Tumbling over
after an insidious alliance
hitting the ground hard
wings flapping in defiance
Ants come near
the bee struggles to fly
filled with sugar
a temporary high
In the nick of time
the bee rises in the air
falling into a flower
an answer to a prayer
The next day
the bee sees the feeder again
passing it by for a flower
preferring to live in zen
