Taking note of the moss
on the side of the tree
my namesake conducted an interview
how wise the tree came to be
The tree is
regal and strong
having survived many obstacles
its life is long
Through the window of a millennium
experiences of war and peace
humanities struggles
the wonder has never ceased
Taking notes
wanting to know lessons learned
the tree detailed
what humanity has earned
Created from dust
blessed with light
yet somehow managing
to live in strife
The tree sighed
each generation has a choice
to live in light or dark
everyone has a voice
My namesake smiled
a grin upon her face
excited about the future
and the gift of grace

I love this.
Thank you. Have a wonderful day!
Love this. The new are in old forests, I often think “if trees could talk” I do think they would have a lot to say. Donna
