The Mechanical Face

Forced by circumstances

to wear a mechanical face

barren of feelings

eyes turning in space

A world gone mad

freedom is gone

a barren landscape

not even a song

Encompassed in metal

spirit attempts to break free

breaking the loud silence

a forceful plea

In the darkness

there came a small light

dim at first

then quite bright

The metal softened

away went the fear

thought impossible

came the first tear

Mask breaks into pieces

as spirit breaks free

no more turmoil

journey continues with glee

  1. Oh Wow! What a beautiful take Debbie. Loved the evolution from mechanical, unfeeling to humanized and immerse in emotions. Thanks for joining in.
