The Key

The key became airborne

then lost in the woods

what was its purpose

it would speak if it could

Perhaps the key to a dream

worth its weight in gold

a lifetime of adventure

an exciting tale to be told

Or maybe the key to a heart

one filled with love

growth from trials and tribulations

gifts from above

Or maybe a key to a treasure chest

lost from pirates

filled with gold and silver

greed at its highest

Or perhaps the key to a diary

the story of a life

filled with tales of adventure

love and strife

Hidden in the leaves

perhaps lost to time

a key representing imagination

preserved like a fine wine
