Lying on the ground
a simple insect on its back
hallucinating before death
and becoming a bird’s snack
The enemy came
brutal and thriving
shooting fiery arrows
taking the living
With drive and determination
insect made a bold move
fiercely aiming for the eyes
sight to be removed
Enemy falls
screaming in pain
insect is victorious
now time for the gain
Covered in armor
leaping toward some meat
a handsome reward for victory
a feast to eat
All of the sudden
enemy reappears
with renewed strength
death is near
It is finished
as the spirit begins to rise
now living in limbo
awaiting a new disguise
The veil opens
living again
a new battle emerges
maybe this time the insect wins
