Now lax in imagination

open to a surprise

mind continues to wander

as sleep closes the eyes

the synthetic lifeform appears

a cross between a dog and a cat

with floppy ears

Opaque eyes

unable to read

speaking with an intense voice

Seeking inspiration

I asked for wisdom

the creature tossed an opal

landing near my spirit’s schism

Part of the spirit

is filled with light and color

inspiring and joyful

ideas to discover

Another part

filled with sadness and fear

inhibits creativity

using all that I hold dear

The light called to me

the creature disappeared

in an instant a choice was made

inspiration appeared

Flowing in a river

filled with happiness and joy

the opal glittered in the sun

like a new toy

Picking it up

awaking from the dream

colors filled my world

creativity picked up steam

Writing came easy

words flowed onto the paper

illustrating thoughts

especially of nature

Life is beautiful

creativity flows in the wind

so many stories to create

may there be no end
