Sitting in front of the fire
knitting a blanket
attempting to stay warm
reflecting upon the state of the planet
The jury is still out on
what needs to be done
how to make it better
what makes the world run
Juggling with the needles
missed a stitch
jesting this is part of the problem
scooting over an inch
Looking at the blanket
perhaps it could help someone be warm
searching for homeless shelters
sad it is the norm
This winter
one blanket at a time
combined with warm food
perhaps a dime
Helping to build a house
with Habitat for Humanity
a kind word of encouragement
making a difference in the world’s insanity
Blanket is finished
a small contribution
praying it makes a difference
part of the solution

Thank you. Have a wonderful day!
You are doing something useful while contemplating about the planet. I contemplate but am doing nothing but sitting on my cold hands. Never did learn to knit. I like your poem.
Thank you. I use a knitting circular loom. The loom makes knitting so much easier. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
A very worthwhile hobby. I have little to show for my hobbies.
