The stars are dancing
desiring to shine in the sky
then the morning comes
disappearing in the twinkling of an eye
In a desire to preserve
the memories of my life
I gathered some stars
in a jar with little light
A collection of adventures
filled with joy and strife
I hid the jar in sand
in the middle of the night
Capturing the essence
of the waves in the sea
the jar floated out
content to just be
Like sand through an hourglass
the stars escaped
returning to the sky
entering Heaven’s gate
Now in the night sky
sharing my memories with others
fitting in the tapestry
of the night’s bright cover
