Ode to Pollen

Wind blows

pollen in the air

coating all the land

green with a flair

Walking along

admiring the flowers

nose is sensitive

aromas for an hour

Night comes

hard to breathe

pollen is everywhere

not wanting to leave

Eyes watering

taking an antihistamine

face is swollen

in a bad dream

Days pass

finally begins to rain

washing the pollen off

sending it down the drain

The land is renewed

time for summer fun

finally feeling better

my nose no longer runs
