A summer road trip

drenched from the falling rain

yearning for adventure

so much to gain

At the entrance to the house

there is a guide to greet

time to discover the mystery of this site

and escape from the heat

A remnant from yesterday

complete with a haunting history

stories from the past

along with a few mysteries

Haunted by those unwilling to move on

objects fly though the air

a figure stands greeting us

costume with a flair

Soldiers walk through a steamy mist

singing haunting tunes

carrying guns and whiskey

from a nearby saloon

Other parts of the house

originate farther in the past

stories of scoundrels

with lots to cast

Rain has stopped

returning to the present

the tour is complete

all ghosts become quiescent

The journey continues
