One day while working
using the Xerox machine
I heard a xylophone
the music sounded quite mean
Filled with anger
each beat had passion
emotions so raw
calling for action
Putting on a jacket
walking at to the xyst
hoping to find the musician
struggling to exist
Finding my young child
having a ball
dancing as she pounded notes
giving it her all
Seeing me the music stopped
waiting for a reprisal
I began to laugh
just looking at her eyeballs
Filled with tears
explaining the xylophone was neat
fun to play
sending vibrations to her feet
Telling her to take a break
to get some ice cream
I used a voucher for lessons
to complete her dream
Years later
now a fine young woman
expressing passion on a stage
the ultimate showman
