Time has come

to be in high school

an interesting quest

on the journey to be cool

Maybe play an instrument

join the band

marching and playing jazz

would be so grand

Perhaps play a sport

track or softball

then there is archery

could do it all

Now the newspaper

that could be fun

stories of importance

or gossip to run

Must go to class

and not be late

acquiring knowledge

working to graduate

In the quest to be cool

be yourself

exercise kindness and have fun

mischievous like an elf on the shelf
