Such a friendly fellow
with no intention to steal
still the seed called to him
a luscious meal
In the darkness
guided by the moonlight
over the fence
feeder in sight
A bird saw him
sounded the alarm
an attempt to stop him
caused no harm
Climbing high
giving the feeder a swing
seed flying everywhere
grabbing what he could bring
Cheeks full
with some on his back
scampering away
this night brings no lack
No way of knowing
feeder is just for the birds
feed food for the taking
not to be deterred
Unintentionally breaking
an unwritten law
the thief will return
abundance for all
