Through the years
so many candies have called to me
some sweet and others sour
have filled me with glee
One of my favorites
has been the payday
peanuts and caramel
crunchy all day
Sweet tarts
a sugary delight
in times of anxiety
helped me feel alright
M & M’s
little candies to devour
chocolate and peanut butter
fill many hours
Another wonderful candy
is the kit kat
crunchy and chewy
eating when I chat
When it comes to candy
I pretty much like them all
filled with sugar
meant to enthrall
Candy is a treat
not eaten everyday
savored when I indulge
enjoyed when days are gray

I favor chocolate covered caramels but love sweet and tart kinds too. When I was young, I loved jolly ranchers and sweet tarts or shock tarts.
